PRAN CEO, City MD get bail

PRAN group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Khan Chowdhury and City group Chairman and Managing Director Fazlur Rahman have been granted bail in two separate cases filed over food products produced by the two companies. 

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) court’s Special Metropolitan Magistrate, Mehedi Pavel Sweet, on Monday granted the bail.

PRAN CEO surrendered before the court and appealed for the bail. The court granted bail to him after hearing his bail petition.  

His lawyers, Tanzeem al-Islam and Kazi Abdur Rahman said, the court had issued an arrest warrant against PRAN CEO as he was not present in court due to illness on Sunday. We sought more time due to his illness, but the court did not agree and issued the arrest warrant.

On the other hand, City MD surrendered and appealed for bail before the court. The court granted bail, taking into consideration his age.

In this connection, food inspector and also plaintiff of the cases Kamrul Islam said the court granted bail to PRAN CEO and City MD as they surrendered before the court and appealed for the bail.
