Digital security case against Jago News acting editor rejected
A Dhaka court has rejected a case filed under the Digital Security Act against the acting editor of Jago News Mohiuddin Sarker and the editor of Daily Shomoyer Alo.
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Ash-Shams Jaglul Hussein on Tuesday rejected the case as the allegations against them were not probed.
The tribunal bench-clerk Shamim Al Mamun confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said, Masud Ahmmed of Moulvibazar’s Sreemangal on Sunday filed a case under the Digital Security Act against seven people including acting editor of Jago News and editor of Daily Shomoyer Alo over a report.
The other accused in the case were Ripon Dey, Moulvibazar correspondent of Jago News, Daily Shomoyer Alo’s national desk editor and Sreemangal correspondent Hridoy Debnath, Sylhettoday24.com editor Abdul Alim Shah and its Sreemangal correspondent Hridoy Das Shubha, he said.
The court recorded plaintiff’s statement and fixed Tuesday for its order, he added.
