298 killed, 860 injured in road crashes during Eid journey
At least 298 people were killed and 860 others injured in road, railway and waterway accidents across the country during the journey on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity revealed the information at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Saturday.
Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, Secretary General of the organization, said 256 accidents took place from May 30 to June 11 that claimed 298 lives and injured 860 people.
This year’s Eid journey was more comfortable than the previous ones due to the government’s proper initiatives.
