15pc VAT won’t be imposed at a time: Tofail

The minister for commerce, Tofail Ahmed, on Sunday said the government would not impose 15 per cent Value Added Tax on businessmen at a time.

The Minister said this while addressing a program at Engineers Institute Bangladesh in the capital on Sunday noon.

Tofail Ahmed said ‘The government will take time, if needed; it would not impose 15% VAT on businessmen at a time.’

He also said, ‘Some businessmen mentioned about gas crisis. We are hoping that the gas problem will be solved soon.’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Political Advisor HT Imam presided over the programme where Awami League publicity secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, BGMEA senior Vice President Faruk Hasan and others spoke in the program.
