Zia Trust graft case: HC rejects Khaleda’s plea

The High Court has rejected the petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia challenging legality of testifying new investigation officer and seeking a stay order in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

The bench of justices M Enayetur Rahim and Amir Hossain on Sunday rejected her petition.

The former prime minister stands accused of embezzling Tk 31.5 million of the Trust in the case by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

Earlier on May 10, on behalf of Khaleda Zia, his lawyer filed the petition.

In 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case, accusing four persons, including Khaleda Zia, on the charge of abusing power to collect Tk6.19 crore for Zia Charitable Trust.
