1 detained over Kalabagan double murder

Police have detained a man over the killing of USAID staff Xulhaz Mannan, and his friend Tanoy in the capital’s Kalabagan area on 25 April.

Maruf Hossain Sarder, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed about the arrest.

The detained was identified as Shariful Islam alias Shihab.

Shihab was detained early Sunday from Kushtia, he said.

On April 25, LGBT activist Xulhaz Mannan and his friend Mahbub Tonoy have been killed at Mannan’s residence in Dhaka’s Kalabagan area.
