3 held over Buddhist monk killing

Three people have been detained by police over the incident of killing a Buddhist monk Mong Shu You Chak.

Law enforcers detained them from Etarpara area of Baishari union in Bandarban around 5 am on Sunday.

The three arrestees are Zia, Abdur Rahim and Mong Chak.

Tawhid Kabir, Officer-in-Charge of Naikkhanchhari police station confirmed the matter.

It is mentionable that on Friday night, the Buddhist monk has been slaughtered inside the temple by unidentified miscreants.His son’s wife spotted him when she had gone to serve food at Upchakpara Buddhist Temple early Saturday.
