Fake cosmetics found at Almas, Mustafa Mart
Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection has fined six shops including Alams Super Shop, Mustafa Mart for selling fake cosmetics.
A team of DNCRP led by its Assistant Director Abdul Jabbar Mondol under the supervision of Monzur Mohammad Shahriar, Deputy Director of DNCRP, Dhaka division conducted a special drive in the capital’s Bashundhara City on Monday and fined them for selling illegal substandard foreign cosmetics.
Monzur Mohammad Shahriar said: “Almas, Mustafa mart and BBB cosmetics are branded shop. People believe in them. But they are dodging consumers as they are selling fake cosmetics, which come into Bangladesh in an illegal way. No manufacturers name is seen on the packets. So, people get confused is it brand product or not?”
They are selling these products very high price. They are dodging consumers as well as evasion tax, he also said.
The mobile team fined Almas Super Shop, Mustafa Mart and BBB cosmetics Tk 1 lakh each. Besides Savely cosmetics, Neur cosmetics and Amrin Fashion were fined for 50 thousand, 50 thousand and 10 thousand respectively.
