2 killed in blast at Basila ‘militant den’: RAB DG

Two people were killed in a blast inside a suspected militant den in the capital’s Basila on Sunday morning.

Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed confirmed the matter while visiting the spot in Mohammadpur.

“The bodies have been blown apart in the explosions. We will have to identify them through DNA profiling,” RAB’s DG Benazir told reporters.

The death toll might be increased, he added.

Previously, Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of RAB’s media wing, had told of one killed and other officers suspected multiple casualties in the house.

The members of the elite force cordoned off a tin-shed house suspecting it a militant den and detained three people for interrogation around 3:30 am.

They are caretaker of the house Sohagh, his wife Mousumi and a local mosque Imam Yousuf.
