Nusrat murder: Writ seeking judicial investigation filed

A writ petition was filed with the High Court (HC) seeking judicial investigation and compensation over the murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand on Wednesday filed the petition with the concerned department of the HC.
Nusrat, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set on fire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case filed against the principal Siraj Ud Doula for sexually harassing her on March 27.
She lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after she was set afire - an incident that sparked outrage all over the country.
Police have so far arrested 14 people in connection with the murder.
