Nur Uddin arrested in Mymensingh over Nusrat murder
Nur Uddin, who led the procession to release Feni’s madrasa principal SM Siraj-ud-Doula, who is an alleged mastermind of Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder, a madrasa student who died on Wednesday.
A special team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested him from Seedstore area in Bhaluka at 11:30 am on Friday.
Confirming the matter, Mymensingh’s police super Shah Abid Hossen said he (Nur) is being taken to PBI’s headquarters in Dhaka.
According to Nusrat's family, four burqa-clad students called her to the institute’s roof and asked her to withdraw a case her family had filed last month against Principal Sirajuddaula for allegedly trying to rape her.
The unidentified students set her on fire after pouring kerosene on her when she refused.
Other students rescued her after hearing her cries and took her to Sonagazi Upazila Health complex with the help of police.
From there, she was moved to Feni General Hospital, and later transferred to DMCH.
She lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after she was set afire-an incident that sparked outrage all over the country.
