CU BCL faction continues strike, train service suspended
A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University (CU) unit on Monday continued their strike demanding six-point demand following the Sunday’s clash with police.
The teachers’ buses didn’t move from the campus to city. The service of shuttle train was suspended.
The presence of the teachers and students was thin in the campus.
The classes and examinations were cancelled, said university’s acting Registrar AKM Nur Ahmed.
Tonmoy Chowdhury, acting Station Master of Sholoshohor, the shuttle train service was postponed after the discussion between the authorities of train and university.
CU Proctor Mohammad Ali Azgar Chowdhury said, the vandalized teachers’ buses were not repaired as it service was suspended.
However, CU unit BCL Vice President Enamul Haque said we will continue our strike until the demands are met.
To be noted, seven were injured including police during a clash between the ruling party’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League and police at Chittagong University campus on Sunday morning.
