PM inaugurates BGMEA’s new building
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the new building of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) constructed in the capital’s Uttara.
The premier inaugurated this through a video conferencing from her official residence at Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
However, the BGMEA is going to move the office from Hatirjheel after the High Court ordered to demolish the building as it was constructed illegally.
According to the source, the construction work of the 13-storey building with two towers of Uttara is in full swing. The work of the 5-storey building with the basements was completed. The 40-square-foot exhibition hall is being constructed at Uttara Sector 17 in the lakeside view on 5 bighas of land.
“We are going to leave the Hatirjheel building and move to Uttara’s new building within the time given by the court,” the BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman said recently.
