Four more bodies recovered from Buriganga

Fire Service and Civil Defense team today recovered four more bodies including three minors from the Buriganga River as they went missing since Thursday following a boat capsize.

They were identified as Shahida Begum, 30, wife of Shahjalal, his daughter Mim, 6, and Mahi, 8, Delwar Hossain, 35, husband of Jamsheda and his son six month-old Zonayed, reports BSS.

Officer-In-Charge of Sadarghat Naval Police Station Abdur Razzak said that the bodies were recovered from Ahsan Manjil area of Buriganga river from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Fire Service and Civil Defense team has been working to find rest of missing passengers. Seven-member of a family went missing as the boat capsized in the Buriganga River after it was hit by a launch.

Shahjalal, 35, a survivor, was found with both legs severed by the launch propeller. He is undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) also formed a three member probe committee to investigate the matter.
