Prepared to execute Nizami’s Death penalty: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Monday said the government is prepared to execute the death penalty of convicted war criminal Matiur Rahman Nizami.

He said, ‘We are prepared. We will execute the verdict after completing all the formalities.’

The minister said these as the Supreme Court full verdict on the review plea filed by Nizami reached the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) this noon.

Supreme Court officials took the copies of the verdict along with other documents to the tribunal at 5:05pm.

The apex court at 3:30pm released the full verdict.
