Arundhati Roy is an Indian author best known for her novel The God of Small Things (1997), which won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1997 and became the biggest-selling book by a non-expatriate Indian author.

Renowned Indian author Arundhati Roy’s talk “Utmost Everything” now will be held at the new venue on Tuesday evening after her pre-scheduled programme at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) was cancelled by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

She will talk at Midas centre of Dhanmondi in the capital at 6 pm.

“After massive juggling and a lot of help from friends, we have been able to obtain a new venue,” Chobi Mela, organizer of the event, said this in a written statement published on its website.

Earlier, the talk had been cancelled as DMP withdrew their permission for the event mentioning ‘unavoidable circumstances.’ The talk was scheduled to be held at KIB at Farmgate in Dhaka at 6 pm today.
