Bangladesh hands over detained Myanmar army man

Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) handed over a captured member of Myanmar army to their authorities concerned on Sunday. 

The detained army personnel Ang Bo Bo Thin was handed over through the Bangladesh-Myanmar Friendship Bridge Point of Dhumdhum area under Naikhongchhari upazila at 12:15 pm.

Commander of BGB-11 battalion Lieutenant Colonel Asaduzzaman led a nine-member delegation team during the meeting between BGB and Border Guard Police of Myanmar. Twelve members of BGP led by Brigadier General of BGP sector no 1 Ming Tong were present.  

Commander of BGB 34 battalion in Cox’s Bazar Lt Col Ali Haidar Azad Ahmed earlier said a member of Myanmar Army was captured from Hatichhora area on Ballaukkhaiya Border under Naikhongchhari upazila on January 24.

The army personal was captured when he entered Bangladesh illegally,” he added.
