2 RU teachers get death threat

Two teachers of Rajshahi University received death threat through mobile phone on Thursday evening. 

The recipients are Dr Aminul Islam, Associate Professor of Sociology department and provost of Syed Ameer Ali Hall and Motasim Billah, professor of philosophy department. 

The two teachers filed separate general diaries with Motihar Police Station.  

Dr Aminul Islam said an unidentified person gave him a death threat demanding money from a mobile phone number 01725664972 at 6:52 pm. 

Professor Motasim Billah said a man identified himself as a commander of Sarbahara Party, a banned militant outfit, gave a death threat demanding money at 7:06 pm on the same day.  

In this connection, Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station, said the two teachers filed two general diaries over the death threat and the investigation is on.
