Ekushey Padak recipient Polan Sarker passes away

Ekushey Padak winner Polan Sarkar, who lit the people up with books, passed away on Friday.
He departed this life at the age of 98.
The nonagenarian had been suffering from old-age complications.
He breathed his last at his village home of Bausha village in Bagha Upazila. “My father was surrounded by our family during the time of his death,” his son Haider Ali said.
He won the Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh’s second-highest civilian award, for his works.
