HC clears way for holding DUCSU polls

The High Court (HC) today cleared way for holding Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) election at its fixed date.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Justice Md. Iqbal Kabir passed the order, asking the concerned chief returning officer to dispose of a plea within 24-hour of getting a copy of this order, filed by Dhaka University (DU) student, reports BSS.

DU Department of International Relations student Fahmida Mazid earlier filed a writ to stay the schedule of the election, set to be held on March 11.

Fahmida filed the writ on February 24 as her name was allegedly dropped from the voter list.
