ASI killed, 3 cops injured in road accident

A police officer was killed and three police constables injured when a covered-van hit a patrolling police car at Ashulia area in Savar early Monday.

The incident took place on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Narsinghopur area around 5 am.  

The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, Assistant Sub Inspector, son of Mokshed, hailing from Madaripur.  

The injured constables are Anik, Nazmul and Talukder. 

Jabed Masud, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said a covered-van coming from Dhaka hit a patrolling police car in the area. ASI Jasim died on the spot and three police members were injured. 

The injured constables were sent to Women and Child Hospital and the body of the ASI was taken to the police station, the OC added.
