Second phase Biswas Ijtema ends with ‘Akheri Munajat’

The second phase of Biswas Ijtema, one of the largest congregations in the world, on Tuesday ended with Akheri Munajat (concluding prayer) on the bank of river Turag in Tongi.

Indian preacher Mawlana Shamim conducted the prayer. The prayer began at 11:45 am and ended after 25 minutes.

The first phase Akheri Munajat ended on Saturday morning.

Senior Islamic scholar of Kakrail mosque Hafez Mawlana Mohammad Zubaer conducted the Munajat seeking world peace, divine blessings and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

On December 1, the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat were locked into infighting on the Ijtema ground in Tongi that resulted to defer the Ijtema from January 11 to February 15.

Tabligh Jamaat has been organising the Ijtema at the venue since 1967 while the Ijtema is being held in Bangladesh every year from 1946.
