102 Yaba traders surrender to police in Cox’s Bazar

A total of 102 Yaba traders including 29 kingpins listed by the home ministry formally surrendered to police in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.   

The surrender programme began at Pilot High School ground in Teknaf upazila of the district around 12pm.

They surrendered to police after depositing 3.5 lakh Yaba pills and 30 home-made pistols to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Inspector General of Police Mohammad Jabed Patwary.

Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain presided over the programme. 

Among others, DIG of Chattogram Range Police Khandakar Golam Faruk, Additional DIG (Operation and Crime) Mohammad Abul Foyez, lawmakers of four constituencies of Cox’s Bazaar Jafar Alam, Ashekullah Rafiq, Saimum Sarwar Komol, Shahin Akter Chowdhury and Deputy Commissioner Md Kamal Hossain were present.
