The Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed has said all preparations have been completed to hold Biswas Ijtema, one of the largest Muslim congregations in the world, peacefully.

“Tough action will be taken against for sharing rumours on social media,” RAB DG said this on Thursday at RAB Media Centre at BSEC Bhaban in the capital while talking about the security measures taken on the occasion of four-day Biswas Ijtema to be started from Friday.

He said, law enforcement agencies will remain much aware than previous year as this year’s Biswa Ijtema faced one year long conflict between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat.

Benazir Ahmed also urged the Tabligh leaders and the devotees to inform the law enforcement agencies if they face any untoward situation.

“Tabligh leaders will have to be aware so that third party can’t get any chance to create anarchy,” the RAB DG said.

Like previous year, we will provide water and medicine to the devotees with free of cost as per our ability, he added.

Tabligh Jamaat has been organising the Ijtema at the venue since 1967.
