203 Myanmar Buddhists entered Bangladesh in 6 days

A total of 203 Buddhists from Myanmar have entered into Bangladesh in last six days through Ruma upazila border area in Bandarban.

163 Myanmar nationals entered Bangladesh through the Remakree Prangsha border in the Ruma upazila on Tuesday after staying inside tents in the no-man’s land, along the Chaikkhong border since Saturday.

Apart from, some Buddhists also entered Bangladesh through the same border area on Wednesday.

With this, a total of 203 Myanmar nationals entered so far and took shelter. 

According to the source, a joint team of the Bangladesh Army and Border Guard Bangladesh visited the area to observe the situation of the refugee seekers. The upazila administration has also sent a representative team learn about the overall situation. 

Shamsul Alam, UNO of the Ruma upazila, said they will take next step after observing the area by army and BGB.
