Jakarta to play effective role in resolving Rohingya crisis
Visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi today vowed to play more affective role in resolving Rohingya crisis within regional and multilateral framework.
The Indonesian foreign minister made the pledge while holding a meeting with her Bangladesh counterpart Dr A K Abdul Momen at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka.
During the meeting, the Indonesian foreign minister assured of extending all cooperation of her country to the Bangladesh new government and hoped that the existing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will be further strengthened in the days to come.
The Bangladesh foreign minister urged the Indonesian government to expedite the approval process for setting up carrier monitoring system of Bangabandhu Satellite in Jakarta. The monitoring system will provide different kinds of satellite related benefits to people of different countries of the region, Momen added.
Both of the ministers expressed their satisfaction as discussion over trade preference agreement between Bangladesh and Indonesia is going to kick off this month.
They hoped that the agreement will be finalized soon to bring economic benefits for both Dhaka and Jakarta.
