PM honours 349 cops as Police Week-2019 begins

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today honoured around 349 policemen for their outstanding contributions as the Police Week-2019 began on Monday morning.
The premier reached the Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital at 10:30 am and inaugurated the police week.
Later, she honoured the police personnel with the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM).
Family members of two policemen also received the BPM award (posthumous) from the premier.
Though police week is usually held in January, this year the programme was deferred by a month due to the national election.
Besides, the PM instructed police high-ups to start the function at 10:30am so that SSC examinees can enter their exam centres before her movement, sources said.
