A youth was allegedly gunned down by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) during ongoing union parishad elections at Paria Union under Baliadanga upazila in Thakurgaon.

The deceased man is identified as Majabur Rahman Paltu, 17. Apart from another two people suffered bullet hit injury. Later local rescued them and admitted to Baliadanga Upazila health complex.

The relatives of dead youth alleged that, BGB shot Paltu dead.

According to witness, the supporters of two union parishad candidates locked into a clash. At that time police and BGB opened fire to take the situation under control. 

District election official Shukur Miah told Jagonews24.com that, the voting was suspended immediately after the incident.

Officer-in-charge of Baliadanga Police Station Amnur Islam told that, additional police were deployed on the spot to control untoward situation.

Earlier, one people have been killed in a clash between two member aspirants of ongoing fourth phase union parishad election at Madhobpur Union of Brahmmanpara in Comilla at 10pm on Saturday.
