No compromise with CNG ban: Quader
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday, there will be no compromise with the ban on CNG-run auto-rickshaws, easy-bikes, nasimon and karimon on highways.
The minister made the comment at a program marking the 66th birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, founder of Abahani Limited and also the eldest son of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, organized by Chittagong Abahani Limited in the port city.
He said, apart from the highways, there left about 2.5lakh kilometers of roads in the country. The three-wheeler vehicles can run there. In future, we will construct by-lane beside four-lane highways for the auto-rickshaws and other small vehicles.
Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin, president of Football Committee, chaired the program. Chattagram Abahani Limited, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and lawmaker Shamsul Huq Chowdhury were also present at the program among others.
