Garment workers take to street again

A group of workers of some garment factories took to the street again near Asia cinema hall at Darussalam thana demanding the salary hike and protesting the beating of their some fellows on Saturday. 

They also vandalized some motorbikes and a car and beat up the drivers when the drivers were passing the road. Vehicular movement was suspended till filing this report 1:30pm. 

There are five garment factories named The Finery Limited, Apparel Export Limited, Devilon, Ahmed Fashions and Golden Garments in the area. 

Two workers were allegedly beaten in the factory of The Finery Limited. Our correspondent could not able to contact with the authorities of the factory over the allegation as all factories in the area were closed following the workers’ movement.    

However, some workers staged demonstration at Shewrapara, Tolarbag and Mirpur-10.

In the previous week, the workers blocked the roads and staged demonstrations at Uttara and Mirpur.
