Clash over land dispute 2 dead in Patuakhali

Two people, including a woman, were killed and five others injured in a clash over land dispute at Protabpur village in Patuakhali on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Rustom Ali, 45, and his sister-in-law Maleka Begum, 55.
Police and locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between Jashim and Bashir over a piece of land.
The two groups locked in a clash about 8:00am.They equipped with home-made weapons attacked each other, leaving seven people injured.
Critically injured, Rustom and Maleka were taken to Barisal Medical College Hospital (BMCH) where doctors declared them dead around 1pm.
Masum, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station said they detained two people-Jasim and Rabeya-from the spot.
