India assures to continue cooperation with Bangladesh
The Government of India has assured to continue cooperation with Bangladesh as a close neighbor.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday gave this assurance after congratulating her Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali over phone on his reelection in the 11th national parliamentary polls.
She also hoped to work together with Mahmood Ali in future, says a press release sent by the foreign ministry of Bangladesh on Thursday.
Ali thanked Sushma for the call, expressing the hope that both the countries would continue to work together for the benefit of the two peoples, it adds.
The Awami League-led Grand Alliance clinched a landslide victory with over two thirds majority in the 11th general elections held on December 30.
Out of the 299 seats where elections were held, the grand alliance won in 288 constituencies, including 259 seats bagged by Awami League.
