BCL leader killed in city

A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death by miscreants over previous enmity in the city’s Karail area on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Rakib Hossain, 25, president of No 19 ward unit of BCL, according to a news agency.

Abul Malek, sub-inspector of Banani Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on Rakib while he along with his friend Nur Islam were standing beside an Ansar camp in the area around 11:45 pm and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured.

Later, Rakib died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.  Nur Islam was admitted to the hospital.
