One Delwar Hossain filed the writ on November 26, making chief election commissioner, four election commissioners, law secretary and election commission secretary as respondents. The writ also sought cancellation of the gazette notification issued while appointing the commissioners.
Today advocate Eusuf Ali stood for the pleader, while deputy attorney general Ekramul Haque Tutul moved the case for the state. After hearing both the parties, the High Court binned the writ.
