Public univ teachers protest RU teacher killing

Rajshahi University Teachers  Associations (Ruta) and Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Associations (FBUTA) staged a protest rally at Rajshahi University campus on Tuesday demanding exemplary punishment for killers who brutally killed Prof AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.

A group of teachers of Ruta and FBUTA gathered in front of Senate building of the university around 12pm and staged the rally.

Presided over by Ruta president Prof Md Shahidullah, the rally was attended, among others, by RU vice-chancellor Professor Muhammad Mizanuddin, FBUTA president Prof Farid Uddin, and its general secretary Prof ASM Maksud Kamal.

Prof Rezaul Karim, 58, of the RU English Department, was killed by miscreants in the city’s Shalbagan area while he was waiting for university bus on April 23.
