Gas pipeline explosion: Child dies, six burnt at Jatrabari

A seven-year-old minor boy has burnt to death and six people sustained burn injuries in a gas pipeline explosion in the capital’s Dhalpur under Jatrabari Thana.

The incident took place at 8:30am this morning.

The deceased was identified as Tahsin.

The gas cylinder went off in a house leaving the child dead on the spot and six others injured, said sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp.

The injured were identified as: Suman, 40; his wife Sajuli, 35; their son Nishan, 14; Atar Begum, 70; Alamgir, 30; and his wife Kajali, 24.

Later they were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
