EC announces new election schedule
The Election Commission (EC) has announced new election schedule following the demand of different political parties.
As per the new schedule, the 11th parliamentary election will be held on December 30. The last date for submitting nomination papers is 28 November.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda disclosed this at the inauguration ceremony of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre on Monday noon.
The date for scrutinising nomination papers and the last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers will be disclosed later, the CEC said.
Earlier on November 8, CEC announced the schedule for the next parliamentary election.
The 11th parliamentary elections was scheduled to held on 23 December while the last date for submitting nomination papers was 19 November.
