PM won’t address media Thursday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will not address media tomorrow on the outcomes of the dialogues between the Awami League-led 14-party alliance and other political parties.

PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

The much-anticipated dialogues over the next elections will end at the Ganabhaban tonight with the talks between the 14-party alliance and 25 political parties.

The dialogue kicked off on November 1 with the talks between the 14-party alliance and Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF), BSS reported.

The second round of the talks between the 14-party and the JOF was held at Ganabhaban this morning.

Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukta Front sat for the dialogue on November 2 while the leaders of 14-party on November 4 and HM Ershad-led United National Alliance (UNA) on November 5.

The 14-party alliance held talks with 12 prominent Islamic parties and the Left Democratic Alliance (LDA), a combine of eight leftist parties, on November 6.

While briefing reporters at Ganabhaban on Nov 6, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that their party will not hold any dialogue after November 7 as the Election Commission decided to declare the polls schedule on November 8.
