‘Shukrana Mahfil’ begins

A ‘Shukrana Mahfil’ (thanks giving rally) began on Sunday at 9am at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital hailing the government for giving the Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) of Qawmi Madrasas the status of master’s degree.
Several thousand students and teachers coming from different madrasas across the country took part in the prgramme.
Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh Chairman Allama Ahmad Shafi is chairing the rally.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the rally as a chief guest around 10:45am.
On September 19, a bill titled ‘Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) from Qawmi Madrasas as equivalent to certificate of master’s degree (Islamic Studies and Arabic) under Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh’ 2018 was passed in parliament.
