It originated from leakage of gas pipe line and five of a family suffered critical injuries, he said, adding that they have arrested the house owner Abdul Hamid for taking illegal gas connection after giving bribe.

The victims, Arab Ali, 45, his wife Hasina Begum, 38, their son Abdur Rouf, 25, their son’s wife Ripa Begum, 22, and their granddaughter Ayesha Moni, 2, have been admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), residential surgeon Partha Shankar Paul of the unit told BSS.
