256 officials promoted to deputy secretaries

The government has elevated 256 senior assistant secretaries to the rank of deputy secretary in a large-scale promotion in the civil administration. 

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday night.

With the latest promotions, the number of deputy secretaries has risen to 1619, whereas there are only 1006 permanent posts of deputy secretary.

Earlier on February 20, the government promoted 424 officials of Public Administration to deputy secretaries.
