Barishal mayor, councilors take oath

Newly elected mayor of Barishal City Corporation (BCC) and its councilors took oath at a function at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath of BCC mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah while the councilors took oath from Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Khandker Mosharraf Hossain.
Senior Secretary of Local Government Division Jafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath taking ceremony.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Division Obaidul Kader and political leaders of Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions were present.
The BCC mayor and 40 councilors were elected in the city polls held on July 30, 2018.
