President asks doctors to ensure optimum medical facilities

President M Abdul Hamid today asked the physicians to ensure optimum medical services to the patients with utmost professional attitude.

“Ensure treatment facilities to the patients with utmost professional outlook,” he told the physicians while addressing the foundation-laying ceremony of Abdul Kadir Molla residential hall of President Abdul Hamid Medical College and Hospital (PAHMCH) on its campus in Kishoreganj.

The head of the state also urged the teachers and other concerned to pay more attention to build skilled doctors for providing quality services.

“I am requesting all students to study properly as you can serve the people skillfully . . . And teachers will have to play vital roles in this connection,” he suggested.

Referring to the treatment facilities of the PAHMCH, the President said, “It is a matter of joy that a medical college has been established after my name. But it will hurt me if any patient dies due to negligence of physicians.” He added: “I won’t accept any such incident anyway.”

President Abdul Hamid said this medical college will not only serve people of Kishoreganj, it will be helpful for the people of near-by areas like Sunamgnaj, Netrokona and Mymensingh as well. He repeatedly asked the hospital authority to ensure quality services to the patients.

Stressing on the congenial academic atmosphere on campus, the President said, “You all concerned must maintain a congenial atmosphere here as some foreign students from India, Bhutan, and Nepal are going to get admission into this medical from next year.”

PAHMCH Chairman Rashima Khanom presided over the programme while director the college Rasel Ahmed Tuhin spoke there.

Earlier, on the last day of his three-day visit to his home town Kishoreganj, he visited the possible site for Kishoreganj University at Joika Union of Karimganj Upazila in the morning.

Wrapping up his three-day tour, the President reached Bangabhaban this evening.
