3rd meeting of national taskforce on disability held

The 3rd meeting of the national taskforce on disability inclusive disaster risk management was held at the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry meeting room at secretariat here, BSS reported.

Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram chaired the meeting.

Chairperson of the National Advisory Committee on Autism and Neuro-Development Disorders (NDDs) Saima Wazed Hossain also attended it while members of the taskforce from different ministries were present on the occasion.

The meeting was informed that some 15,93,070 people with disabilities have been identified in the country. Of them, 433000 people with disabilities have been registered in cyclone-prone 19 districts, the meeting was informed.

Saima called for increasing training for trainers to this end at different levels.

The meeting was also informed that 3,105 officials and teachers were given training to impart trainings at the grassroots.

Saima also stressed on updating the training modules.
