Govt plans to raise age limit for public job entry to 35: Minister

Social welfare minister Rashed Khan Menon on Monday said that the age limit for government job entry would be raised to 35.

He came up with the remark while addressing an award giving and discussion programme marking the International Day of Older Persons at social service department office in Dhaka.

He said that the age limit for retirement should have increased as a people can’t any work after his/her retirement at 57 or 59.

There is nothing to be tensed over the matter. The age limit for government job entry also will be increased to 35 to ensure the access for young people in government job, he said.

Earlier, I informed the government about the matter. The government is working over the issues, he added.

Among others, State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Director general of Department of Social Service Gazi Md Nurul Kabir, Additional Secretary Abdu Yousuf, Professor Dr. A S M Atikur Rahman also addressed the programme chaired by Social welfare secretary Md Zillur Rahman.
