Man held with 1 kg gold at Shahjalal Airport

One passenger named Raju Akond has been detained with 1 kg 62 gm weighing gold by customs preventive team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:30 pm on Thursday.

Assistant commissioner of customs preventive team Rezaul Karim told Jago News that Raju Akond arrived at Dhaka from Bangkok by TG 321 flight around 12:10 pm.On secret information customs preventive team searched him and seized 1 kg 62 gm weighing gold from his possession.

Estimated cost of the seized gold is taka 52 lakh, said Rezaul.

A legal action is underway, said customs official.
