Bus-laguna collision kills 6 in Cox’s Bazar
At least six people were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger-bus and a three-wheeler, locally known as Laguna, in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Borotoli Rastar Matha area on Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram highway in Chakaria upazila of the district at 11:30am.
Of the deceased¸ three people were identified as Khayer Ahmed, 40, driver of Leguna, of Lohagara upazila, Abul Kashem, 27, son of Saiful Alam, of Chakaria upazila and Jahir Ahmed, 31, son of Monsur Alam of Dakkhin Para.
In this connection, Khalilur Rahman, Sub Inspector of Chiringa Highway Police, quoting witness, said a Cox’s Bazar-bound bus collided head-on with a Laguna in the area, leaving a female passenger dead on the spot. Around 30 passengers of both vehicles were admitted to different local hospitals where the doctors declared five people dead.
