2 city mayors take oath

Mayors and councilors of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) took oath of office on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath to RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and SCC Mayor Ariful Haque while the councilors took oath from Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain at a program in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
On July 30, Awami League-backed mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton won RCC elections by 87, 360 votes.
Besides, BNP-backed mayoral candidate Ariful Haque Chowdhury won SCC elections by 92558 votes.
