HC judge feels embarrassed to hear Shahidul’s bail petition

A High Court bench on Tuesday felt embarrassed to hear bail petition of noted acclaimed photographer Shahidul Alam.

A bench of Justice Md Ruhul Quddus and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order.

The bench said Shahidul Alam’s bail petition would be sent to the Chief Justice for assigning another bench to hear and dispose of his bail matter.

Barrister Sarah Hossain argued for Shahidul Alam while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam appeared for the state.

Earlier, on Monday, the High Court Division put off for the 2nd time hearing application of Shahidul Alam seeking bail.

On the night of August 5 Shahidul Alam was picked up from his residence and took him to the office of the Detective Branch for interrogations.

At one stage a case was filed against him under Section 57 of the Information and Communication Technology Act alleging that he had incited schoolchildren’s movement for safe roads.
