Murder attempt on 3 Rohingya youths at Teknaf
Some unidentified miscreants attempted to kill three Rohingya youths by slitting their throat 3 days after the killing of a Rohingya youth in an unregistered Rohingya slum at Leda of Teknaf.
Police retrieved the bloodstained three Rohingya youths from a hill adjacent to Hoaikong Chakmarkul Rohingya camp of Teknaf area in Cox’s Bazaar on Monday.
They were identified as Nur Alam, 45, son of Said Hossen, resident of Balukhali Camp, Khaleq, 22, son of Jamal Mostafa, resident of Kutupalong D Block and Anowar, 33, son of Abdul Gaffar, resident of Kutuplaong E block.
Besides, Jamal Mostafa, father of injured Khaleq claimed that three more are missing also since last night. Police on the basis of his information are conducting drives to rescue the missing ones.
Confirming the news, Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Ranjit Kumar Barua said that on information, a team of police led by Hoaikong Police outpost in-charge SI Dipankar Karmakar went to the spot and rescued them.
However, motives behind the attack couldn’t be known yet. The efforts to find the details are on, he said.
Earlier, on last Friday, Abu Yaser, 22, was shot dead in the area by some unidentified miscreants. The people of the area are in concern following the incidents.
